New NNPC GMD Commits to Transparency, Accountability




Newly-appointed Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Engr. Andrew Yakubu, has re-iterated his commitment to transparency and accountability in the operations of the Corporation as well as across the value chain of the oil and gas industry.

Fidel Pepple, speaking for the Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division of the Corporation, quoted Engr. Yakubu as saying that under his watch as GMD the NNPC will assiduously seek to reinforce the tenets of accountability and transparency in line with the transformation agenda of the Federal Government.

Engr. Yakubu started his career as pioneer Plant/Chief Operator and Refinery Superintendent, Kaduna Refining and Petrochemical Company, (KRPC) in 1980. He was posted to Warri Refining and Petrochemical Company WRPC in 1989 as Superintendent Officer in charge of the Fuel Plant.

He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers as well as Fellow Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers, a Fellow of the Nigerian Association of Technologist in Engineering and an Associate Fellow, Chemical Society of Nigeria.

Born on September 10th 1955 in Unguwar Wakili in Zonzon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Andrew Laah Yakubu, who is married with six children, attended the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria from 1975 to 1979, where he bagged a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering.
