Patience Jonathan sworn in as Permanent Secretary in Bayelsa State.


The Wife of President Goodluck Jonathan,Patience has been sworn in as a Permanent Secretary in the Bayelsa State Civil Service.

Patience Jonathan was sworn in as Permanent Secretary alongside eighteen others including the wife of the NDDC Chairman Linnet Tebepah at the Banquet Hall,Government House,Yenagoa.

Dignitaries who attended the occassion include former governor of the Bayelsa State Diepreye Alamieyeseigha,NDDC Chairman Tarela Tebepah among others.

The Bayelsa State Governor Seriake Dickson while delivering his charge to the new Permanent Secretaries warned them not to involve in partisan politics in the state.
Dickson who said government is taking strategic steps to reposition the public service charged the newly sworn in Permanent Secretaries to be loyal, committed and show hard work to the service of the state.

The Governor defended the appointment of the First Lady Patience Jonathan as Permanent Secretary says nobody lobbied for the position argueing that due process was adequately followed in the selection process.

Meanwhile the Wife of the President Dame Patience Jonathan has pledged to work faithfully with the Bayelsa State Government as a Permanent Secretary in the state civil service.

Patience Jonathan in an interview with newsmen shortly after taking the oath of allegiance says she would respond to any assignment delegated to her by the Governor.

The First Lady advocated the need to strenghten the office of the wives of political office holders and enshrined it in the constitution to enable them have benefits at the end of their government.
