LAGOS ASSEMBLY REJECTS POSTING OF NYSC TROUBLED NORTHERN STATES

The Lagos State House of Assembly has rejected posting of batch B of the National Youth service Corps members from the State to the northern part of the country for their service year.

Chairman of the House Committee on Education, Science and Technology,  Wahab Alawiye-King made the declaration while receiving corps members from the Lagos State University who staged a protest at the Assembly complex today.

Alawiye-King said the House at its plenary yesterday also passed a resolution urging the Director General of the NYSC not to post Students from Lagos State to unsafe Northern state where their security of lives and property cannot be guaranteed.

The Lawmaker noted that the State Assembly would resist any attempt by the NYSC to post any student from Lagos to troubled states in the North for service year.

Earlier, the spokesperson of the students, Sessi Agnes Funmi lamented the rate of killings and bombings in the northern part of the country describing it as unbearable.
