Bayelsa Police foiled bank robbery attempt kill two.


The Bayelsa State Police Command have killed two armed robbery suspects who attempted to rob a new generation bank at the state capital Yenagoa on Monday night.

 The suspected robbers attempted to break the safe of a new generation bank located at the Sani Abacha road in the state capital before the command received a distress call and alerted the team of riot policemen who engaged them in a shootout.

The Bayelsa State Police Public Relations Officer DSP Fidelis Odunna who confirmed the incident said one of the suspects was arrested with deep bullet wounds while others escaped.

Odunna who said the deadly suspected robbers stormed the bank in the night with black jeep and sharp objects says the police command are now combing the creeks and villages to ensure the arrest of others who escaped.
