IGP ROLLS OUT NEW E-MAIL ADDRESS TO MONITOR CRIMES


In a move to strengthen information gathering for  crimes management and control, the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar has approved the release of a new email address that will enable members of the public communicate directly with his office.

In statement signed by the Deputy Force Public Relations, Frank Mba the Inspector General tagged the  email address as 
policemonitor@npf.gov.ng

The conditions  spelt for the use of the email by the general public according the statement include; when providing information on the activities of criminal groups, terror gangs or other forms of organized crimes such as armed robbery, human trafficking and  kidnapping


Others are;  when reporting matters relating to national security, advanced fee fraud, cases of breach of public peace, electoral offenses  and when  providing information on  corruption or reporting the conduct of Police personnel and other law enforcement agents

The IGP however appealed to potential users of the email to ensure the integrity of their information and avoid providing false and misleading information to the Force, warning that established cases of deliberate falsehood or intentional misrepresentation of facts may attract reprimand and outright prosecution in courts of law.
