Apparently following the
lagos example, Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo state has promised to create
Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) to bring development closer to the
people.
Though not timed, ajimobi
said LCDAs would be created to ensure that all areas feel the presence of
government and are well manned.
Ajimobi who declared this in Oyo township reiterated his
resolve to build modern markets in all major towns in the state.
Senator ajimobi hinted that the state has furhter strenghtened
the capacity of its anti-crime outfit codenamed 'Operation Burst' with the
procurement of 66 new patrol vans
Governor Abiola Ajimobi while reacting to questions at
a Town Hall Meeting at Durbar Stadium, Oyo hinted that arrangements had been
concluded for the launch of the state Security Trust Fund to create a
pool of funds that would be channeled towards enhancing the security of lives
and property of the people of the state.
Earlier, the governor commissioned 15 cars bought by
the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III for the Oyomesis
(Alaafin-in-Council) where he acknowledged the royal father’s unflinching support for
his administration, pledging that he would also reciprocate by attending to the
welfare of the monarch and his subjects.
The Alaafin had, earlier in his remarks, asked the governor to
attend to the fledging insecurity owing to the menace of the Fulani
herdsmen in rural communities, a development which he said had resulted in the
death of some farmers while several others had fled their farms.
