The Amnesty programme of
the federal government has ensured the stability in the Niger Delta region.
The initiative is also
saving the country over nine hundred billion naira monthly.
This revelation was made by
the Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta and Chairman, Amnesty
Programme, Kingsley Kuku in Abuja.
Kuku, who spoke at a
two-day workshop in Nigeria, said issue of infrastructure that impacts on
people’s lives should not be taken with levity.
Represented by his Special
Assistant Henry Ugbolue, Kuku cited the Niger Delta and the threat posed to the
nation’s economy by incessant violence visited on oil and gas infrastructure in
the height of militancy in the region.
