True Federalism, Constitutional Reforms and Good Leadership Will Enhance National Development - Ekweremadu


True federalism, constitutional reforms and good leadership have been listed as factors that will enhance national development in Nigeria.

This was the submission of deputy senate president of Nigeria, Senator Ike Ekweremadu while delivering a lecture during THE second edition of Zik annual lecture series organized by the Nigeria Union of journalists, NUJ, Anambra council.

Ekweremadu who listed integrity, selflessness and adequate team selection as qualities of a good leader, charged Nigerian leaders to be patriotic in discharging their duties.

On his part, the governor of Anambra state, Peter Obi who commended THE NUJ,  for organizing the lecture stressed that lack of patriotism is the major challenge facing Nigeria.

Earlier in her remarks, chairman, Anambra council of the NUJ ,Tochukwu Omelu revealed that the essence of the lecture is to allow scholars to discuss the noble qualities of  Former president, Nnamdi Azikiwe and to chart a way forward for the present generation of leaders in the country.

 The lecture which is part of activities lined up for the 2012 Press week in Anambra state is titled, the political ideology of the great Zik: challenges of leadership in Nigeria.
