Workers and artisans in Ondo State will on Tuesday trooped out in Akure the State capital to hold a mega rally for the re-election of the incumbent Governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko.

The rally which is to be coordinated by the national leadership of both the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) would be addressed by the President of NLC, Comrade Abdulwaheed Omar and his TUC counterpart,
Comrade Peter Esele respectively at the Democracy Park in the State Capital. The duo who were at the declaration rally of Dr Mimiko on July 25, this year would also endorsed the Governor for second tem and enjoin workers in the State to ensure Mimiko’s re-election at the poll this Saturday.

Tuesday’ s rally which would be the third time to be held in support of Dr Olusegun Mimiko by workers according to both the NLC and TUC was being organised following a decision taken at their national executive council meetings to honour Dr Olusegun Mimiko.

According to the State NLC Chairman, Comrade Bose Daramola, both NLC and TUC want to ”celebrate Governor Olusegun Mimiko for flying the Labour Party (LP) flag higher and for making the workers proud in terms of workers’ welfare which is unprecedented in the history of Nigeria.”

The NLC would be leading over 120 leaders of all industrial unions under its congress while the TUC would lead over 38 leaders to the rally which would hold simultaneously with the LP mega rally in Akure at the same venue.

The two unions therefore enjoined all workers’ unions in the State, artisans and lovers of democracy and good governance to come out and join the rally for Governor Mimiko’s re-election.
