NASRDA Wants Federal Government To Do Comprehensive Mapping To Stimulate National Development



 The National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA) has urged the Federal Government to do a comprehensive mapping and inventory of flood plains in the country.

The Director-General of NASRDA, Dr Seidu Mohammed gave this advice in Abuja while briefing newsmen at the side ling of the agency’s 2012 Space Week program.

He said the comprehensive mapping and inventory was necessary for proper settlement planning awareness and enlightenment of flood prone communities in the country.

A guest speaker at the event Dr Gbenga Odutan however said using a Synthetic-Aperture Radar will not only analyze the country’s flood situation but will also assist in fighting the current security challenges facing the country.
