NECA Condemns Picketing Of Electricity Companies By Labour

The National Employers’ Consultative Association NECA has condemned the recent picketing of Jos Electricity Distribution company by the Nigeria Labour Congress.

The Director General of NECA, Olusegun Oshinowo told newsmen in Lagos that the action of the union is unwarranted and a breach of the rule of law.

The NECA boss said that the current state of power supply is a backlash of the level of decadence in the sector and an offshoot of the privatization process.

Azuka Onwuzor reports that Olusegun Oshinowo appealed to the union to halt its planned picketing of other distribution companies because the action will worsen the economic situation of the country.

He assured Trade Unions that the Ministries of Labour and Power will soon convene a national dialogue to discuss the issues in contention.
