At least 400 candidates were unable to write today’s Unified Tertiary Matriculation
Examination in Maiduguri, Borno state due to security challenges.
The Registrar of Joint
Administration and Matriculation Board, Professor Dibu Ojerinde said
arrangement has been made for the affected candidates to write the examination
at a later date.
Professor Ojerinde who
made this known while monitoring today’s examination in Abuja said rescheduling
the examination for the candidates follows a report of an attack by suspected
Boko Haram members on some people believed to be JAMB candidates.
The Supervising Minister
of Education Nyesom Wike commended JAMB for what he described as an
improved coordination and conduct of the examination.
