National Human Rights Commission Indicts Security Agencies On Apo Killings: Orders Them To Compensate Victims

The National Human Rights Commission has indicted the State Security Service and the Army over the killing of eight commercial motor-cyclists at Apo in Abuja.

The Commission also awarded ten million naira as compensation to the families of each of the deceased.

The ten survivors are to be paid five million naira each.

The Commission’s chairman, Professor Chidi Odinkalu who presented a report on the incident in Abuja described the operation as an error which led to the death of innocent people.
