APC Governors Shun President Jonathan's Security Meeting

State Governors on the platform of the All Progressives Congress yesterday failed to attend a meeting called by President Goodluck Jonathan to find ways of tackling the security challenges facing the country.

In attendance were fifteen People’s Democratic Party governors, the governors of Anambra and Ondo states, two PDP deputy governors and an acting governor.

The meeting presided over by President Jonathan also had Vice President Namadi Sambo; Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Pius Anyim; and the National Security Adviser, retired colonel Sambo Dasuki amongst others in attendance.

Although the outcome of the meeting was not disclosed, Akwa Ibom state Governor Godswill Akpabio told newsmen that the meeting has been rescheduled for Wednesday next week.
