The Federal High Court in
Abuja, presided over by Justice Ahmed Muhammed has denied claims by the House
of Representatives that it issued an order stopping the investigation of
Petroleum Resources Minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke over her alleged spending
of ten billion naira to charter a private jet.
The visible angry judge
expressed shock at media reports that he issued such injunction and
subsequently order the House of Representatives to appear before the court on
May five to set the records straight.
Counsels to the National
Assembly and the Minister as well as the NNPC told the court that they were not
behind the false information.
You may recall that the
spokesman of the House, Zakari Muhammed in a press statement made available to
newsmen alleged that the legislatures had received a court order stopping if
from probing the Minister.
