Worried by the increasing armed robbery
and terror group attacks on banks, the Police High Command on Tuesday met with
the Chief security officers of financial institutions across the country
to check the menace
The Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar who presided over the meeting said the forum was called to review existing security measures put in place to halt further attacks on the banks by the armed bandits and other criminal groups
The Police boss cautioned the banks against hiring the services of private security outfits without carrying out and obtaining detailed security reports on them
Correspondent, Sam Ogbeifun reports that the one day meeting is expected to agree on new security measures that would provide for sophisticated equipment as well as take pro-active measures that will check the menace of bank robbery and killing of security officers deployed to the financial institutions
