The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar yesterday redeployed eighteen Commissioners of Police to various Commands and Formations of the Force, across the country
The IGP directed the affected officers to ensure an effective policing of their new areas of jurisdiction in line with the administration's reform policies.
Statement signed by the Deputy Force Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba said the posting of the Commissioners takes immediate effect.
Some of the affected officers include: Godfrey E. Okeke redeployed as commissioner to Adamawa State, Mbu Joseph Mbu now in charge of Oyo State while bdullahi Yuguda and Olufemi Adenaike have been redeployed as commissioners of police in charge of Borno and Kaduna States
The state hinted that Mohammed Ibrahim is now commissioner of police in charge of Special Protection Unit (SPU),
Sylvester A. Umeh now in charge of Border Patrol while Suleiman O. Lawal has been directed to take over as Deputy Commandant, Police Academy Kano
The Inspector General advised the newly deployed Commissioners of Police to act as agents of positive change and guide against all acts inimical to the fundamental rights of the citizenry.
