Oshiomhole urges Muslims to abide by Allah’s injunctions

Governor Adams Oshiomhole has urged the Muslim faithful to abide by Allah’s injunction in all they do.

In his Eid-el-Fitri message by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Peter Okhiria, the Governor said: “I wish to extend my hearty congratulations to our Muslim brothers and sisters on the occasion of the Eid-el-Fitri celebration.

"Having observed strictly the injunctions of Almighty Allah by self-denial through fasting and prayers and by offering Zakat to the less-privileged; and as we continue in the glorification of Allah, we should not forget His words in the Holy Quran 3:134 that ‘God loves the doers of good.’

“We should remember Allah’s abiding faithfulness to His beloved Prophet Ibrahim which is a clear testimony that there is abundant reward in fidelity to Allah’s injunctions.

“I therefore urge the faithful to sustain the acts of worship and continue to pray for self, the nation and her leaders for God to guide us through this difficult times.

“In Edo, we have every cause to be thankful to Almighty Allah as He has indeed been merciful to us, especially in the life of this administration.

“His love for us was evidently manifest in the success and peaceful conduct of the July 14 governorship election, which has now been adjudged the freest and fairest in the history of the state.

“I wish all the faithful happy Eid-el-Fitri.”
