SALLAH CELEBRATIONS: STAKEHOLDERS AGREE TO AVOID CONTROVERSIAL PRAYING GROUND



Stakeholders in Jos, have agreed to avoid the use of the Rukuba road praying ground, the scene of last year’s mayhem, for special prayers ahead of the Sallah celebrations.

Correspondent Samson Omale Reports that, The decision to avoid the use of the ground was taken after a consultative meeting which was called at the instance of the Commissioner of Police Plateau state, Dipo Ayeni.

 He assured religious leaders and youth to pursue and sustain the peace in Plateau state for the benefit of all.

 Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Plateau State Chapter, Reverend Phillip Dafes, said the Christian community will not do anything that will threaten the peace ahead of the Sallah celebration.

 On his part, National Assistant General-Secretary, Jamma'ati Izalatil Bid'ah Wa'iqamatis Sunnah, JIBWIS, Adams Musa Adams, described the stakeholders meeting as very successful promising a peaceful Ed-El-Fitir celebrations.
