The Supreme Court has
affirmed the election of Rochas Okorocha as the governor of Imo state.
In the judgment read by
Justice Clara Ogunbiyi in the appeal filed by Governor Okorocha challenging the
decision of the Appeal Court, which joined his predecessor, Ikedi Ohakim in the
appeal instituted by a candidate of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria, Ifeanyi
Ararume, berated the former governor for embarking on an endless litigation.
The court held that the
lower court over-reached itself by assuming jurisdiction thereby giving Ikedi Ohakim second opportunity to challenge the election of governor Okorocha through
the back door.
