Six APC Senators have
taken part in the screening of the Service chiefs recently appointed by
President Goodluck Jonathan.
This is in defiance of
their party’s directive to block all executive bills in protest against the
impunity in Rivers State.
The Senators are members
of the Senate Joint Committee of Defence, Army, Navy and Air Force.
Chairman of the committee,
George Sekibo, said the screening of the service chiefs which was the first
since the return of democracy in nineteen ninety nine was in fulfillment of the
provisions of the constitution.
He urged them to stop
insurgency, kidnapping and oil theft.
