Reduce Number Of Vehicles At Worship Centres During New Year Celebrations - Nigerian Police Urge Worshipers


The Nigeria Police High Command has urged worshippers at Jummat and Church services to reduce the number of vehicles around their worship centres due to the security challenges in the country and the general preparation for the New Year Celebrations.

In a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, Emmanuel Ojukwu the Police equally advised operators of motor parks, shopping Malls and recreation centres to work very closely with the police and other security agencies as they strive to strengthen security in their respective facilities.

The statement added that the Inspector-General of Police, Suleiman Abba had directed all Zonal AIGs and State Command Commissioners of Police to ensure an efficient deployment of all operational manpower and tools at the disposal of their respective Commands.

The Alliance for Democracy Governorship candidate in Lagos state for twenty fifteen election Bolaji Ogunseye have said that Nigeria risk being overran by gangs and militias if nothing is done to address the high rate of unemployment and poverty in the country.

Bolaji Ogunseye in an interview with Azuka Onwuzor took a swipe at the present administration for implementing what he described as physical infrastructural development policies that have little or no value to an average Lagosians.

Bolaji who promised to create what he called 50,000 grassroots millionaires biannually if elected governor of Lagos, said the best way to assess the usefulness of government is on the impact they have made among the poorest and weakest in the society.

Federal Government Declares Friday January 2nd As Public Holiday


The Federal Government has declared Friday January second, twenty fifteen as public holiday to mark Eid-el Maloud.

Minister of Interior, Abba Moro in a statement by the Permanent Secretary in the interior ministry, Magaji Abubakar, in Abuja, urged Muslim faithful and indeed, all Nigerians to pray for the peace and unity of the country.

The minister further urged all Nigerians to eschew violence in the run off to the twenty fifteen general elections and to support President Goodluck Jonathan’s transformation agenda to move Nigeria to the next level of development.

Mikel Obi Rejects Move To Schalke 04


John Obi Mikel has rejected the prospect of reuniting with ex Chelsea coach Roberto Di Matteo at Schalke 04, after pledging to remain with the London club at least until next summer when his contract expires.

Having started all but one of the last six matches contested by Chelsea in all competitons, the defensive midfielder, who had been struggling for game time, has assured that he will stay at Stamford Bridge.

30 Billion Dollars Is Not Missing From Excess Crude Account - Okonjo Iweala Blasts Oshiomhole


The Federal Government has described as untrue the allegations by Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomhole that the sum of thirty billion dollars was missing from the Excess Crude Account.

The Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala said in a statement by her Special Adviser on Communications, Paul Nwabuikwu, that the allegation was shocking.

Okonjo-Iweala said the comments reflect the unfortunate tendency of some political players to politicise the management of the economy on the basis of half-truths and sundry distortions.

Governor Oshiomhole had on Thursday accused the Federal Government of failing to account for about thirty billion dollars that had accrued to the excess crude account in the last three years.

Ahead Of 2015 Elections; President Jonathan Lobbies IBB


President Goodluck Jonathan today visited former military Head of State, Retired General Ibrahim Babangida, at his Hilltop Mansion in Minna, Niger State.


President Jonathan who was accompanied on the visit by the National Security Adviser, retired Colonel Sambo Dasuki, his Chief of Staff, retired General Jones Arogbofa, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Bala Muhammed; and the Director-General of his campaign team, Ahmadu Ali, met behind closed-door with the military head of state.



The President later told journalists that he was in Minna to greet General Babangida who recently returned to the country from a medical trip abroad describing him as his father.


Ibrahim Babangida urged Nigerians to support the President.

Judiciary Workers To Begin Indefinite Strike On January 2nd 2015

The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria, JUSUN has declared an indefinite strike to commence January second, twenty fourteen.

The Union alleged that all the thirty six state governors had deliberately resisted the implementation of a Federal High Court judgement to put judiciary funds under the first line charge.

JUSUN, in a statement signed by its National President, Marwan Adamu, and National Assistant Secretary, Placidus Nnamani, said none of the parties served with the order of the court had appealed against it till date.


The Union argued that refusal to implement the court judgement was frustrating the independence of the judiciary.

After FG's Austerity Measures, President Jonathan's Cohorts Showers Him With 21.2 Billion Naira For 2015 Election Campaign


The PDP has raked in twenty one point two billion naira for President Jonathan’s re-election in twenty fifteen.

The chairman of the PDP Fund Raising Dinner, Tunde Ayeni donated one billion naira and another one billion naira on behalf of his unnamed friends.

Players in Oil and Gas sector contributed five billion naira while those in the Real Estate donated four billion naira.

Chairman of the fundraiser committee Professor Jerry Gana announced a donation of five billion naira by his friends and associates in the power sector.

The twenty one PDP Governors contributed fifty million naira each, amounting to one-point zero five billion naira.

There were also donations from the private individuals, the food and agriculture, power and the construction sectors.

Professor Gana at the event said that the twenty fifteen elections would be keenly contested.


President Jonathan used the occasion to plead with those who lost out in the party primaries not to defect to other parties.

SERAP Drag APC & PDP To Court For Non-Disclosure Of Campaign Funds


A civil society group, Socio Economic Rights and Accountability Project, SERAP, has dragged the PDP and the APC to court for failing to disclose sources of spending on their respective electoral campaigns and other operations linked to the twenty fifteen elections.

The suit which was filed at the Federal High Court in Lagos followed a Freedom of Information request to the national chairman of both parties last month.

SERAP argued that Nigerians have the right to know the sources of their campaign funding.


The group said transparency, accountability, integrity and independence of political parties are important to achieve greater transparency in public life.

Please Don't Defect To Opposition Parties - President Goodluck Jonathan


President Goodluck Jonathan has appealed to PDP members who are aggrieved over the recent party primaries not to dump the party.

He said the leadership of the party was working hard to resolve the disagreements thrown up by the primaries in many states.


The President who spoke at the PDP fundraising dinner advised the aggrieved party members to remain in the party to correct the mistakes made.

APC Lawmakers Suspend Their PDP Counterparts In Ekiti State


The nineteen All Progressives Congress lawmakers of the Ekiti State House of Assembly have suspended the leader of the seven Peoples Democratic Party lawmakers, Dele Olugbemi and others.

The suspension was carried out after they made a surprise re-entry into the state.


At the plenary held at a secret location in Ado-Ekiti and presided over by the embattled Speaker, Adewale Omirin, the APC lawmakers also nullified all legislative actions purportedly carried out by the PDP caucus.

Fayose Was Duly Elected - Election Tribunal


The Ekiti State Governorship Election Tribunal sitting in Abuja has dismissed the petition filed by the All Progressives Congress and its candidate Kayode Fayemi challenging the victory of Governor Ayodele Fayose in the election held in June this year.

 The court held that the petition was lacking in merit.

The court dismissed all issues raised in the petition, including the claim that Governor Fayose was ineligible to contest the election based on his purported impeachment and certificate forgery.

Meanwhile, Governor Ayodele Fayose has dedicated his victory at Election petition tribunal sitting in Abuja to God and the entire citizens of the state.


The Governor said the victory has affirmed the supremacy of God and the voice of Ekiti people which they exercised through their votes during the June twenty-first governorship election in the state.

INEC Set-Up Task Force On How Internally Displaced Persons Can Participate In 2015 Elections


The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has raised a task force on how internally displaced persons can participate in the forthcoming general elections in the country.

The task force approved by the INEC chairman, Professor Attahiru Jega has a National Commissioner, Thelma Iremiren as chairperson along with nine other members that included the Resident Electoral Commissioners of Borno, Yobe and Adamawa states.


The task force has seven working days from Monday, the twenty second of December to submit its report.

Political Parties Are Buying Voters Card - APC


The All Progressives Congress has raised the alarm over the alleged purchase of Permanent Voter’s Cards by a political party ahead of the twenty fifteen elections.

The APC said the aim of the party engaged in the purchase is to disenfranchise the owners of such cards, especially in opposition.

The party’s spokesman, Alhaji Lai Mohammed who made the allegation in a statement appealed to all Nigerians, particularly their supporters not to sell their voters cards because it would amount to mortgaging their future for a paltry one thousand naira.


He urged APC supporters who are yet to collect their PVCs to do so urgently to enable them participate in the twenty fifteen elections.

Centenary 100 Naira Note Goes Into Circulation


The commemorative one hundred naira note unveiled recently by President Jonathan has gone into circulation.

The Head of Corporate Communications of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Ibrahim Mu’azu, who announced this in a statement in Abuja said all branches of the apex bank have been directed to commence the issuance of the currency.


He said the commemorative note which retains the portrait of Chief Obafemi Awolowo will circulate alongside the existing one hundred naira note.

The Bayelsa State Broadcasting Corporation, owner of Glory FM 97.1 has honored Architect Miebi Bribena with its prestigious Hero’s Award for his selfless services to humanity.

The Award ceremony which took place at Glory FM 97.1 Ekeki,Yenagoa was to wrap up the 15th  years anniversary celebration  of the station.

According, to the management of the station, the choice of Architect Miebi Bribena was informed by his philanthropist gesture through his nongovernmental organization, ‘BARE-NET initiative’.

Muhammadu Buhari Has Been Captured By A Cabal - PDP


The PDP has described the emergence of Professor Yemi Osibajo as the APC vice presidential candidate as a proof that the party’s presidential flagbearer, Muhammadu Buhari has been captured by a cabal.

The PDP said the circumstances surrounding the emergence of Professor Osibajo As Buhari’s running mate showed that the former Head of State would not be in control if elected President.

The party’s spokesman, Olisa Metuh said in a statement that the choice of the APC vice presidential candidate is a confirmation that the party is a personal project of a cabal led by Bola Tinubu.

APC National Leader, Bola Tinubu, has revealed that the party’s presidential flagbearer, Muhammadu Buhari, offered him the vice presidential slot.

The Secretary to the Lagos State Government, Oluranti Adebula has been named the running mate to the APC governorship candidate in Lagos, Akinwunmi Ambode.

She was reportedly chosen among other contenders based on gender, religion and origin.

Oluranti Adebule, an Awori indigene of Lagos is a PhD holder in Curriculum Studies.

I Will Kill Emir Of Kano - Shekau


Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau, has threatened to attack the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi, in retaliation for the Emir’s call on Kano residents and other Nigerians to arm and defend themselves against the terrorist organization.

In a new video released at the weekend, Abubakar Shekau said his group does not consider Muhammadu Sanusi a true Muslim, and will attack him whenever an opportunity presents itself.

But he said his group remains prepared to fight and kill anyone who challenges its ideology and all non-Muslims and fake Muslims like the Emir.

The Boko Haram leader said his group will fight local vigilantes and hunters, who have successfully crushed the advances of its fighters in some parts of Nigeria’s northeast.



Nigerian Army Sentences 54 Soldiers To Death


A Nigerian Army court martial has sentenced fifty four soldiers to death for refusing to fight Boko Haram militants in the North-East.

The soldiers were convicted on a two-count charge of criminal conspiracy to commit mutiny.

Four others were however acquitted.

The convicted soldiers were accused of refusing to help recapture three towns that were seized by Boko Haram in August.

Boko Haram Kidnaps Over 100 People In Borno State


Boko Haram militants have stormed a remote village of Gumsuri in Borno state, killing at least thirty three people and kidnapping at least one hundred others.

A survivor said the militant seized young men, women and children.

Meanwhile, Cameroonian army says it has killed one hundred and sixteen Boko Haram militants who attacked one of its bases.

Bizarre! 7 PDP Ekit Lawmakers Impeach Speaker


Seven PDP members of the Ekiti State House of Assembly have purportedly impeached the Speaker, Adewale Omirin.

The lawmakers who sat amid tight security elected Dele Odugbemi as the new Speaker and Aduni Olayinka as deputy.

However, Adewale Omirin told newsmen in Lagos that he remains the Speaker.

He said seven members cannot remove him as Speaker of the Assembly that has twenty six members, adding that seven cannot be greater than nineteen.


Reps Threatens To Impeach President Jonathan; Rejects State Of Emergency Extension


Some members of the House of Representatives were seen today signing a document they called an impeachment notice against President Jonathan.

The aggrieved Lawmakers said it was an impeachment offence for the President to allegedly direct security agencies to lock out the Speaker from the National Assembly.
The House of Representatives has rejected President Jonathan’S request for emergency rule extension in Yobe, Borno and Adamawa states.


The House Speaker, Zakari Mohammed said the President has been advised to rely on some sections of the constitution to deploy troops in the states ravaged by Boko Haram activities.

David Mark Shut National Assembly


The Senate President, David Mark, has shut the National Assembly till Tuesday following the pandemonium that followed attempt by security operatives to prevent the Speaker, Aminu Tambuwal from gaining access to the House of Representatives complex.

The Inspector-General of Police, Suleiman Abba has also been summoned to explain the action of the police.

David Mark described the invasion of the National Assembly as unfortunate.

Chaos In House Of Representatives As Security Agents Prevent Speaker Aminu Tambuwal From Entering The Premises


There was pandemonium earlier today at the National Assembly as the Police and the State Security Service stopped the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal from accessing the complex.

Armed policemen who were led by the FCT Commissioner of Police took over the premises of the National Assembly to prevent the House from reconvening with Tambuwal presiding.

They attempted to arrest the Speaker but were prevented from doing so by other lawmakers and his aides.

The police resorted to throwing teargas into the lobby of the National Assembly an act described by the aggrieved lawmakers as barbaric.

Some lawmakers decided to scale the fence to gain entry into the National Assembly complex.


The House of Representatives was to reconvene today for a special session to discuss President Jonathan’s request for another extension of the state of emergency in Yobe, Borno and Adamawa states.

INEC Extends Continuous Voter Registration By 2 Days


The Independent National Electoral Commission has extended by two days the Continuous Voter Registration in all states under the third phase of the exercise except Adamawa.

This means that the exercise will now end on Wednesday in Lagos, Kano, Edo, Ogun, Plateau and Imo states.

The Chairman of INEC, Professor Attahiru Jega said he approved the extension to make up for the initial challenges in the exercise and enable many eligible voters to register.


He advised the people against engaging in multiple registration which is a criminal offence.

Civilian JTF & Hunters Drives Out Boko Haram Militants From Chibok Town

Chibok town in Borno state has been recaptured from Boko Haram militants.

They were driven away in a joint operation between the military, civilian JTF and local vigilantes.

Spokesman of the Nigerian Army, General Olajide Olaleye said mopping up operation is ongoing in the town where over two hundred schoolgirls were abducted in May by the insurgents.

Boko Haram took over the town on Thursday.

 Many residents say the insurgents still have a presence in the surrounding villages and so the area is not safe.

Borno State Government Engages Civilian JTF To Provide Security In Public Schools


The Borno state government has said it would enlist the services of local vigilantes called the Civilian JTF to provide security in public schools.

The public schools are expected to re-open today after being shut in March due to security challenges.

Chairman of the committee on resuscitation of primary school education in the state, Mohammed Dongel said the vigilantes had already been contacted to provide surveillance in all schools.


He also said perimeter fencing had also been provided in public schools to prevent security breach.

Expose And Prosecute Boko Haram Sponsors Now - APC Challenges President Jonathan


The All Progressives Congress, APC has challenged the Federal Government to expose and prosecute sponsors of the Boko Haram insurgents.

National chairman of the party, John Oyegun threw the challenge while responding to a pronouncement by the Akwa Ibom State governor Godswill Akpabio that the PDP would not hand over power to sponsors of Boko Haram.

The APC National Chairman told newsmen that since the PDP claimed that they knew who the sponsors of the sect were; they should be bold enough to tackle them by arraigning them before the law court


He queried why troops were withdrawn from Mubi before the capture and asked the Federal Government to wipe out the insurgents urgently.

IG Orders Arms Mop-Up Ahead Of 2015 General Elections



The Inspector General of Police, Suleiman Abba has in the meantime ordered all state commands to mop up all illegal arms in circulation and re-strategise to check thuggery and related violence ahead of the twenty fifteen general elections.


The police boss disclosed this when he met with senior police officers in Abuja yesterday.

Suleiman Abba also expressed concern that three months after the attacks on police training camp at Gwoza in Borno State by the insurgents, over twenty police officers declared missing are yet to return.

Speaker Tambuwal Joins APC Presidential Race


The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal has picked the notice of intent and nomination forms to run for the office of the President of Nigeria on the platform of the All Progressives Congress.

Special Adviser on Media to the Speaker, Imam Imam who confirmed the development said some members of the House of Representatives purchased the form for the Speaker.


Aminu Tambuwal recently defected from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party to the APC a move many believed was to run for the governorship seat of his home state, Sokoto.

Blame Jonathan For The Annexation Of Nigerian Territories By Boko Haram - Tinubu


The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu has blamed President Goodluck Jonathan for the taking over of some parts of the North eastern states of Nigeria by insurgents.

The former governor of Lagos State told APC supporters at a rally organised to mark the sixth anniversary of the inauguration of Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole in Benin City that no leader would allow any part of his territory to be taken over by terrorists.


He said the country’s military is ill-equipped to deal with the problem of insurgency in Nigeria.

Declare War On Boko Haram - Senate Urge President Jonathan


The Senate has urged President Goodluck Jonathan to deploy Nigeria war resources to combat Boko Haram in the North East of the country.

The President of the Senate, David Mark led other senators to condemn the recent killing of innocent school children in Yobe State.


David Mark said the call for full war on members of Boko Haram become necessary in view of their inhuman acts on daily basis. 

Female Bomber Blew Up Self In A Failed Suicide Attack On Federal College Of Education, Kontagora In Niger State.


A suspected female suicide bomber has killed herself in a failed attempt on students of Federal College of Education, Kontagora in Niger State.

A student of the college told the News Agency of Nigeria that the female suicide bomber was instantly killed while another student sustained injury.

But another report said two suicide bombers and two students were blown up by the bomb explosions.


Spokesman of the state Police Command, Ibrahim Gambari, confirmed the incident but said they were yet to get full details of the incident.

APC Want To Get Power Through The Back Door - Presidency


The Presidency has accused the APC of trying to get power through the back door.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs, Doctor Doyin Okupe made the allegation while reacting to the call by some APC leaders on President Jonathan to resign.

He described the call as an assault on the sensitivity of Nigerians, adding that the Federal Government is doing everything possible to contain the Boko Haram insurgency.

Boko Haram Now Controls Five Local Government Area In Adamawa - Governor


The Governor of Adamawa state, Bala Ngilari says Boko Haram has captured another local government today in the state.

He said the insurgents now control over five local governments.

Governor Nbilari who spoke with newsmen on the sidelines of a power sector event in Abuja said the activities of Boko Haram are overwhelming the state government.


He called for the deployment of more troops to secure the state.

You Can't Hold APC To Ransom-Lai Muhammed Tells Olusegun Osoba & Others Who Defected To SDP


The All Progressives Congress has expressed shock over the defection of former Ogun State Governor, Chief Olusegun Osoba and others in Ogun state to the Social Democratic Party.

The party however said the defection would not affect the overall chances of the APC in the state.

The party’s spokesman, Alhaji Lai Mohammed in a statement expressed the hope that the defecting members will reconsider their decision and beat a quick retreat.

According to him, every party member is important to its overall success, but none is more important than the party, adding that no member can hold the APC to ransom.


Alhaji admitted that the defection would create some challenges for the APC, but they would go back to the drawing board to restrategise to retain Ogun state in twenty fifteen.

INEC Postpones Collection Of Permanent Voters Cards In 9 Local Government Areas In Lagos.


The Independent National Electoral Commission has postponed the collection of Permanent Voters Cards in nine Local Government Areas of Lagos state till November thirty.

The affected councils include Alimosho, Amuwo Odofin, Apapa, Badagry, Eti-Osa, Oshodi-Ishola, Somolu, Surulele and Epe.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner in Lagos, Adekunle Ogunmola who announced this in Yaba said the exercise will still go ahead tomorrow in the other eleven local governments.

He blamed the postponement in the affected council areas on non-availability of the cards but assured that all registered voters in the state will collect their cards at the end of the exercise.

In his reaction, the state chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Henry Ajomale demanded the postponement of the entire exercise in the state.

But the state chairman of the Labour Party, Abdulhakeem Olaope disagreed with the APC and called for adequate security during the exercise.

Nigerian Police Arrest Suspected Fugitive From Britain.


The Inspector-General of Police, Suleiman Abba has commended Police Intelligence Operatives for the arrest of a wanted murder suspect in the United Kingdom, Jeffery Okafor

Twenty three year-old Jeffery Okafor fled to Nigeria after the alleged murder of Carl Beatson Asiedu on  August one, two thousand and nine in London.

A Statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, Emmanuel Ojukwu said the suspect was arrested on September twenty three in Asaba, Delta State, after a diligent search.

The IGP in the statement lauded the Professionalism displayed by the Police operatives as well as the effective deployment of the Forces’ high tech-equipment in tracking the suspect. 

The IGP stated that all necessary procedures required to handover the fugitive to the UK Authorities have already been concluded and assured the International community that the Nigeria Police Force will always apprehend all fugitives that show up in Nigeria upon request.

Boko Haram Now Control 8 Local Governments In Borno State - Governor Shettima


The Governor of Borno State, Kashim Shettima says Boko Haram has taken over eight out of the twenty seven local government areas of the state. 

The governor who stated this while receiving members of the Victim Support Fund in Maiduguri said the continued attacks on communities had created hardship for the people.

He listed the local governments under the control of the insurgents to include Gamboru-Ngala, Kala-Balge, Marte, Dikwa, Gwoza, Bama, Akira-Uba and part of Konduga.

The Governor however expressed optimism that the insurgency would soon come to an end.


PDP Senators Threatens To Defect To APC Over Party's Congresses


Aggrieved Peoples Democratic Party, Senators have vowed to cripple the activities of the National Assembly over disputes arising from ward Congresses of the party held last weekend.

Some of them threatened to defect to the APC.

The Senators vowed not to sit until the party addresses all the issues raised.

They accused the state governors of denying them tickets to return to the Senate. 

Fear Of Boko Haram: Gombe State Governments Orders Closure Of Schools



The Gombe State Government has ordered the closure of all public and private schools in the state, a day after attack by suspected Boko Haram terrorists on two towns in the state.

Reports say parents who took their children to school today were told to take them back as the schools had been closed on the orders of the government.

Some parents commended the state government for the action, saying it was a necessary action to safeguard the students.

APC Condemns Withdrawal Of Tambuwal Security Personnel:Says President Jonathan Lacks Better Understanding Of Democratic Ethos


The All Progressives Congress has called on President Goodluck Jonathan to show better understanding of democracy by immediately restoring the police security details withdrawn from the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal.

In a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Lai Mohammed, the party described the announcement of the withdrawal of the Speaker's security details by the Inspector General of Police as a usurpation of the role of the Judiciary by the Police.

The APC argued that the interpretation of Section sixty eight of the Constitution on which the Inspector General of Police anchored his action was currently before the courts for resolution.

The party said it rejected the meddling in the affairs of the Legislature especially given the resolution of President Jonathan and his close advisers at their meeting to ask the Deputy Speaker Emeka Ihedioha to unlawfully reconvene the House before the adjourned date.

Reactions have been trailing the withdrawal of security details of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal.

A legal practitioner Professor Itsay Sagay said there was no legal basis for the action.

Another lawyer Fred Agbaje is of the view that the action taken by the Federal Government is an indication that the opposition may be victimized in next year’s general elections.




President Procures PDP Nomination Form For 2015 Presidential Election


President Goodluck Jonathan has procured the PDP nomination form for the twenty fifteen presidential race.

The ceremony attracted top government functionaries and party big wigs.

President Jonathan thanked all those who contributed to the cost of purchasing the PDP nomination form, including the Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria, TAN, the National Executive Council, PDP Governors’ Forum and others.

Withdrawal Of My Security Personnel Is A Ploy To Harm Me - Tambuwal


The Speaker House of Representatives, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, says he is shocked by the withdrawal of Police personnel attached to his security detail by the Acting Inspector General of Police.

In a statement by his media aide, Imam Imam, Aminu Tambuwal described the IGP’s action as an attempt to remove him from office as Speaker House of Representatives.

As the number four citizen in the hierarchy of protocol in the country, the Speaker says he is entitled to security protection by the security agencies; hence the action of the police was a ploy to bring harm to him.

The Speaker described the action of the Police as a brazen act of crass impunity, gross Constitutional breach and contempt of court.

President Jonathan Withdraws Tambuwal's Security Personnel 2 Days After He Defected To The APC


The Acting Inspector-General of Police has redeployed the police personnel attached to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal.

A statement by the Force Public Relations Officer Emmanuel Ojukwu said the action was in pursuant to section sixty eight of the constitution following the defection of the Speaker from the PDP to the APC.

Reports say none of the policemen assigned for the speaker’s personal security and other operatives reported for work this yesterday.
