Nigerian Soldiers Down Tools In Maiduguri

A group of soldiers in Maiduguri, Borno State is refusing to fight Boko Haram militants until they receive better equipment.

One of the mutineers told the BBC that at least forty of his colleagues would refuse order to deploy.

He explained that soldiers were not being given enough weapons and ammunition to fight Boko Haram.

The Director of Defence Information, Major General Chris Olukolade said the incident was being investigated, and denied that soldiers were being sent to die in the North East.
