The Emir of Gwoza,
Mohammed Idrissa who was captured when his town was attacked and captured by
Boko Haram insurgents last week has resurfaced.
The Emir was said to have
escaped captivity with some of his subjects on Sunday night due to heavy
rainfall which allowed for relaxed watch by their abductors.
Reports say the Emir was
held hostage at one of the mountains of Gwoza by the insurgents alongside some
of his subjects.
You may recall that the
Emir was enthroned about three months ago when his father and predecessor was
killed by insurgents in a highway raid.
