The Nigerian Medical
Association has suspended its over two months old strike action.
NMA President, Kayode
Obembe made the announcement at the end an Emergency Delegates Meeting of the
association in Abuja.
The doctors expressed
their support for the government’s effort at improving the Health sector.
The NMA however demanded
the immediate reversal of the suspension of Residency Training Programme by the
federal government.
The body of Medical
doctors commended the efforts of the federal and Lagos state governments in
containing the spread of Ebola Virus Disease and the establishment of isolation
centres in all the thirty six states and the Federal Capital Territory.
