National Conference Ends Peacefully As Delegates Adopt Report

The National Conference have ended, This came after delegates adopted the draft report of the conference prepared by the Conference secretariat.

Delegates also avoided bringing the conference to an acrimonious end when they agreed to a change in the title of a controversial document earlier named 'the draft constitution'.

It will be recalled that delegates representing  a section of the country had alleged that certain items including a third term agenda for President Goodluck Jonathan had been smuggled into the 'draft constitution'.

In the end, it was unanimously agreed the document should be re-named "proposed amendments to the 1999 constitution".

This brings an end to a conference inaugurated on the 17th of March two thousand and fourteen (2014) by President Goodluck Jonathan.

The Confererence was mandated to find solutions to the challenges confronting the country.
