The Independent National
Electoral Commission has created an additional thirty thousand polling units
across Nigeria, bringing the nation-wide total to one hundred and fifty
thousand units.
INEC’s decision is meant
to fulfil the commission’s pledge to decongest polling units across Nigeria in
order to make it easier for voters to cast their votes.
The Director in charge of
the commission’s secretariat, Ishiaku Gali, said the decision to create the
additional polling units was taken at INEC’s meeting last Tuesday.
