The Lagos State Government
has said no Nigerian has contacted the deadly Ebola virus.
The Permanent Secretary in
charge of Primary Healthcare Board in the state, Doctor Olukayode Oguntimehin said
Nigerians should not panic over the virus but observe simple personal hygiene.
According to him, the
hospital where the Liberian man, Patrick Sawyer who died of Ebola, was taken to
acted professionally by carrying out the necessary tests on the victim and
reporting the case to the appropriate quarters.
Doctor Oguntimehin said
some people who boarded the same flight with the victim from Liberia to Lagos
have been identified, adding that none of them has contacted the virus.
