The Lagos
State University branch of the Academic Staff Union of Universities has suspended
its six-week old strike.
The lecturers in a letter signed by their
Chairman, Doctor Kunle Idris said after serious deliberation on the Governing
Council’s letter, the ASUU congress agreed to call off the strike in the
interest of all.
The congress directed its executive to continue
further discussions with the Governing Council of LASU on the outstanding
issues identified the lecturers.
It believes that the letters and spirit of the
resolutions reached with the University Administration and the University
Appointments and Promotions Committee as well as the Governing Council shall
hold.
