The Governor of Ekiti
State, Doctor Kayode Fayemi has signed in law a bill for the creation of
nineteen Local Government Council Development Areas.
The governor said the
policy was aimed at bringing government closer to the people and not a rap for
the incoming PDP government of Ayodele Fayose.
The speaker of the State
House of Assembly Adewale Omirin said they passed the bill because of the great
role local governments play in the lives of the rural people.
