The
Senate has approved the request of President Goodluck Jonathan to obtain an
external loan of one billion dollars to fight insurgency amidst a rowdy
session.
However, before the
request was eventually approved, APC Senators including the Senate Minority
Leader, George Akume, Olubunmi Adetunmbi and Babafemi Ojudu argued that
President Jonathan should have requested for the loan through a supplementary
appropriation bill.
