All State High Courts In Ekiti Shut Over Political Unrest

All Ekiti State High Courts have been shut following an attack on some judges by thugs suspected to be supporters of the State Governor-elect, Ayodele Fayose.

The thugs beat up Justice John Adeyeye and tore the record books of the State Chief Judge, Justice Ayodeji Daramola.

They also temporarily disrupted proceedings at the State Election Petitions Tribunal.

Trouble reportedly began when Justice Adeyeye told Ayodele Fayose to control his supporters.

The Chief Registrar of the Court, Obafemi Fasanmi said the Chief Judge ordered the closure of the courts due to persistent attacks on Judges by hoodlums.
