Police Intercept Cache Of Arms In Plateau

The Plateau state command says, it intercepted a cache of arms and improvised explosives devices set to be detonated within the state capital.

The commissioner of Police, Chris Olakpe said the Police made the discovery following a tip off by concerned members of the public.

Correspondent Samson Omale quotes the Police commissioner as saying that Police command in Plateau state will soon start a house to house search for arms where attacks and counter attacks have become prevalent.

The police commissioner is also calling on the state and local governments administration  to partner with the police by providing vehicles and other logistics support to help fight the growing security challenge in some parts of the state.

He attributed the current conflict in some communities outside the state capital on the continuous disagreement between farmers and herdsmen on Grazing areas and farmland.
