Accord Party Condemns Assassination Attempt Of Its Chieftain

Accord Party Leader Raheed Ladoja

The Accord Party in Oyo State has condemned the assasination attempt on one of its chieftains and former secretary to the staye government, Chief Ayodele Adigun by unknown gunmen.

The party, in the statement, called on the security agencies in the state to fish out the killers of Adigun’s guard and bring them to book, stressing that the world is watching what becomes of the matter.

In a statement signed by the state chairman of the party, Alhaji Bashiru Lawal and made available to newsmenon Saturday, the party said although Adigun was not available when the assailants came, they nonetheless killed one of his guards identified as Mr Ola and made his wife and children widow and fatherless respectively.

Accord feared that such assasination attempt was a bad pointer and alleged
intolerance of the present government that for the opposition.

Apparently accusing the rulling government, Accord Party said it hoped  that the boast of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) government that by May, 2013, Accord will be no more in Oyo State is not being actualised.

The said it anchored on the fact that the target, Chief Adigun, is an unrepentant critic of the ACN maladministration in the state.
