We Have The Constitutional Right To Detain El-Rufai - SSS

The State Security Services says it will appeal a court order directing it to apologise and pay the sum of two million naira to former FCT Minister Nasir El-Rufai.

A statement signed by its spokesperson Marlyn Ogah said Mallam El-Rufai’s detention for just two hours was not a breach of the constitution.

The SSS said it only carried out its legitimate duty for the smooth conduct of election in Anambra state.

Marlyn Ogar said the department would be operating like a ministry if it cannot intercept and investigate suspects.
