A Federal High Court sitting in
Lagos has discharged and acquitted the Speaker of the Lagos State House of
Assembly, Adeyemi Ikuforiji standing trial for allegedly laundering six hundred
million naira.
Justice Ibrahim Buba also
discharged the Speaker’s aide Oyebode Atoyebi.
The judge held that the
prosecution failed to prove the money laundering allegations against the
accused persons.
