YOU HAVE FAILED OYO PEOPLE---PDP TELLS ACN

The Oyo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),  today  said  the recent defection of some of its members and especially two members of the state House of Assembly was not enough to save the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) from being rejected by the people of the state in the next general elections.

The party’s Public Relations Officer, Hon. Kehinde Salawu,  who stated  this in a statement made available to newsmen in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, yesterday said  some PDP members’ defection to the ACN should not be used as yardstick to measure the party’s acceptability as it has let the electorate down in the past one year.

The PDP stated that the ACN will only be building its castle in the air if she thinks it is loved by the people adding that the reality on ground shows that the government of Senator Abiola Ajimobi has failed the masses in the last one year with workers facing difficult times; the poor people have only got poorer, as less and less people felt the impact of the ACN government in the last one year.

He further berated the state government for its failure to pay the severance allowances of   the immediate past elected local government officials in the state, stating that  such attitude was wrong and lack justification since government was a continuum.
