RADIO:CIVIL DEFENCE ARREST FIVE MAN GANG OF OIL THIEVES


A five man syndicate that specializes in transporting illegally refined petroleum products from Onitsha to various locations in the South East have been arrested by men of the Anambra state command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence corps, NSCDC.
 
State Commandant of the civil defence corps, Bala Ali who said the principal suspect identified as Ndubisi from Ezza south local government area of Ebonyi state has been declared wanted, revealed that the five suspects already in custody will be prosecuted as soon as investigation on the matter is concluded.
 
Ali who put the market value of the illegally refined products at over one point two million naira advised filling stations against purchasing petroleum products from questionable source.
 
He vowed that his command will cripple the operations of the illegal refineries whose source of supply is stolen crude from neighbouring states.
