Two feared Killed as feuding hausa groups Burn Police Station in Ibadan

Pandemonium was let loose today in Bodija,  near the plank Market as Feuding Hausa groups invaded the Divisional Police Station and set it ablaze.

Violent clash had erupted between two Hausa groups in the market during which many people were stabbed.

The police were said to have, as a result arrested some of the principal actors including those stabbed who were said to be loosing blood without medical attention.

Our man gathered that this prompted the group affected to approach the police for the release of their men to treat them before they die in police cell.

Consequent upon the refusal of the police to release their man for treatment, the group mobilised their members and attacked the police station setting it ablaze

They also burnt 8 vehicles including a Jeep belonging to the Divisional Police Officer and 8 machines (Okada).

Owing to insufficient weapons, some of the police ran for their lives while they called for reinforcement.

The Police however, shot two of the invaders alleged to have been killed in the process.

Our man who visited the scene of the violence reports that blood littered the front gate of the Bodija police station with smoke still oozing out of the station.

All the exhibits inside the station were hurriedly evacuated outside while the Operation Burst team and Police Armoured personnel carrier was stationed to cordon off any further aggression.

The Bodija main market became a ghost of sort and market women and men closed shops for fear of being attacked.

Peace is however returning to the area with the presence of the team of operation burst.

The Police Commissioner Tambari Mohammed who visited the scene has summoned the woman Divisional Police Officer to his Eleyele Office for debriefing.
