20 Insurgents Killed As Security Forces Foil Terrorists Plan To Attack Communities In North-Eastern Nigeria


The security forces say they have foiled attempts by terrorists to attack Ajiri and Mafa as well as other communities in the outskirt of Maiduguri and Dikwa in Borno State towards the Cameroon borders.

The Director Defence Information, Major General, Chris Olukolade said in a statement that the ambush mounted by the terrorists to enable them unleash terror on the communities unchallenged, was also cleared by troops on reinforcement mission.

The statement said twenty insurgents died in the encounter, while some troops sustained varying degree of injuries, adding that more camps were destroyed in encounters at various forests and mountain locations around Adamawa and Borno States.

it said arms recovered from the terrorists include various brands of machine guns and improvised explosive devices.
