Oyo Police Arrest Killer Of LAUTECH Female Student



The Oyo State Police command has paraded Alex Akinyemi, an accomplice of one of the suspect involved in the killing of Miss Seun Adaramoye, a student of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomosho (LAUTECH).

It will be recalled that on the 20th of June, the corpse of Miss Adaramoye was discovered by passersby beside a guest house aroung Under-G area in Ogbomosho, Oyo State.

Addressing reporters today at the State Criminal Investigation Department(CID), Iyanganku, Ibadan, the Assistant Commissioner of Police, CID unit, Dansuki Galadanchi said upon thorough investigation by his officers, the owner of the guest house at which the corpse of the student was dropped informed the police that his security man was involved.

According to him, the security man was caught dropping the dead corpse of the lady on the Close Circuit Camera. 

He explained that on the 6th of this month, the security guard was arrested in Ogbomosho, adding that the corpse of the student was removed to LAUTECH teaching hospital for post mortem examination.

Galadanchi noted that all efforts are being intensified to get the fleeing suspect, Charles Segun Aregbesola, while further investigation is on going.

The suspect, Alex Akinyemi, said:" I have been working as a security guard in this guest house for over two months, and I only know this segun aka police as a resident of that area before I saw him dropping the corpse at around 8am that day. He threatened to kill me with an axe he was holding that day if I report to the police and promise to give me N500,000, but he did not give me till now.

He said he is innocent and was not involve in the murder of the student.

Also yesterday at the State CID, one Wajud Akande, 50 years was paraded for conspiracy, stealing and conversion of goods worth N1.2 million.

According to the ACP Daladanchi, on the 5th of June, one Alhaji Lawal Mohammed reported that his co-worker charted an Ivoco truck with reg no. XA 487 MGR to covey 4,554 cartons of soaps valued at N9.12million from Apapa, Lagos to Zaki-Biam in Benue.
