IGP Deploys Dig To Rivers State To Commence Investigation Into Crisis Rocking Rivers State House Of Assembly



 The Inspector General of Police Mohammed Abubakar has vowed to deal ruthlessly  with any police officer who may have taken side during the fracas at the floor of the Rivers State House of Assembly on Monday 

In a statement issued in Abuja the Police Boss said he has constituted a high Powered Investigation Panel  headed by the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in-charge of Operations, Philemon Leha, to  investigate  the circumstances surrounding the on-going impasse in the State house of assembly

The Panel according to the IGP is expected to look into the actions and omissions of Police personnel that were physically on ground during the unfortunate fracas that occurred at the hallowed Chambers of the Rivers State House of the Assembly.


Statement signed by the Deputy Force Public Relations Officer Frank Mba assures that  the Force will not spare anyone found to have fallen foul of the law, irrespective of placement and status.

It urged the citizens of the State, irrespective of their ideological leaning to play by the rules, adding that the Force will continues to do everything within its constitutional powers to provide a safe and conducive atmosphere for legitimate socio-political and economic activities to thrive in the State.
