Appeal court Sacks Eleruwa of Eruwa




Hope of the Eleruwa of Eruwa in Oyo State, Oba Samuel Adegbola  of continuing his reign as the monarch of the ancient town was dashed today as the Federal Court of Appeal, Adeoyo road, Ibadan dismissed the petition brought before it to quash  the earlier High Court judgement which nullified his ascension to the throne 15 years ago.  

In about one hour judgement delivered by Monica Dongba-Mensan of the court two in the Appeal Court about 24 hours to the monarch's  15th year anniversary on the throne, she commended the counsel, Demilade Olaniyan and Tona Akande for their industry as she dismissed the petition of the appellant.

Oba Adegbola and six others had brought a petition against James Olatunde Idowu and four others following a judgment delivered by  Ladipo Abimbola of the State High Court on January 26, 2011 which declared that the monarch was wrongly picked for the throne.

The judge, in her judgment examined some issues raised by the appellant and affirmedd that the eminent jury were satisfied with the process with which the lower court conducted the case.
