Oba Of Rilwan Rules Use Of Money In Deciding Lagos's Next Governor
The Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu has ruled out the use of money in deciding the choice of the next governor in the state.
Oba Akiolu stated this during the inauguration of the newly constituted Council of Obas and Chiefs in Alausa by Governor Babatunde Fashola.
The traditional ruler who is also chairman of the council urged members of the public not to be deceived by those that have started going about with money ahead of the 2015 elections.
According to him, it is only God who knows who will be next governor of Lagos.
He also commended Governor Fashola for transforming the state, adding that the next governor must be a competent person.
He warned other traditional rulers in the state to desist from engaging land grabbers to tormenting residents in the state, adding that he had personally informed the Inspector General of Police to deal with anyone found wanting.
In his remarks, Governor Babatunde Fashola commended the Obas and Chiefs for ensuring peaceful coexistence in the state.
