SYLVA GETS BAIL


Former governor of Bayelsa State, Timipriye Sylva, has been granted bail to the sum of One Hundred million naira with a surtie in like sum.
 
The surtie is expected to own a landed property in the Federal Capital Territory.
 
Justice Adamu Bello, who gave the ruling on bail application, also ordered the former governor to deposit his travelling documents with the court.
 
Sylva was arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Tuesday, 5th June, 2012 at an Abuja Federal High Court on a six count charge of fraud, criminal conversion, and conspiracy to commit crime to the tune of over N2billion 

The former governor had pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
