FG berates Governor Oshomhole over claim of road projects executed in Edo State
As Governor Adams Oshomhole intensifies his campaign for next Month' governorship election in Edo state, the federal government has urged the Comrade Governor to stop politicizing road contracts awarded in the state to score cheap political points
The Minister of Works, Arc Mike Onolememen who stated this in Abuja also accused Oshomhole of allegedly giving credit to his ACN led government over the on-going and completed road projects awarded by the federal government in Edo State
In state issued in Abuja, the Minister expressed shock over the alleged statement credited to Oshomhole at a political rally in Bening city "that the recently approved Ada-Okere-Ukoni-Amedokhian Old Road by the Federal Executive Council was a non–existent road project, adding that the project was smuggled into the budget by the Minister of Works.
Statement signed by Tony Ikpasaja, Special Assistant on Media to the Minister of Works, said Contrary to Ohiomhole’s false claims, the road project have been designed and introduced into the 2010 Federal Budget, and later, into the 2011 Federal Budget, long before Arc Mike Onolememen was appointed Minister of Works
According to the Minister "it is also pertinent to clear the air that Governor Oshiomhole has never rehabilitated any Federal road in Benin City and elsewhere in Edo State, stressing that If the Governor was responsible for the rehabilitation of Dawson road section, why has he not asked for claims or refund from Federal Government, like other State Governors are currently doing?
