Residents of three
villages in the district of Kala-Balge, in Borno state have repelled an attack by
suspected Boko Haram fighters killing about two hundred of them.
An eyewitness said the
residents had formed vigilante groups after learning of an impending Boko Haram
attack.
The residents also seized three
cars and a military vehicle from the attackers.
Kala-Balge, which is near
Lake Chad is not far from the site of a market where three hundred people were
killed in Gamboru Ngala ten days ago.
