Human rights lawyer, Femi
Falana has described the hike in fees at the Lagos State University, LASU as
immoral and illegal.
The Senior Advocate of
Nigeria who spoke at the delegates conference of the Academic Staff Union of
Universities in Ibadan said it was an act of terrorism for a state government
to increase fees beyond the reach of the children of the poor.
He wondered how a civil
servant who earns eighteen thousand as minimum wage could afford their send his
children to LASU.
He said the policy may
lead to stealing and corruption among civil servants.
Femi Falana told the delegates
that a Federal High Court has given a judgment ordering the federal Government to
establish the Nigerian Education Bank for the children of the poor to access
