The Lagos State chapter of the Action Congress of Nigeria has lambasted the
People’s Democratic Party for its sustained efforts to smear the image of the
National Leader of the Action Congress of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The party says it is curios that a so called party has wasted thirteen precious
years of a nation and is now stuck with the mad obsession of sniffing on a
citizen and manufacturing all manners of smear campaigns, poorly articulated
blackmail, lies and mischief to deal with the soaring profile of Tinubu and the
sure threat it presents to the never do well party called PDP in its indecent
lust for seamless irresponsible power.
In a release in Lagos, signed by the Lagos State Publicity Secretary of the ACN, Joe Igbokwe, the party says it has watched with amusement as the rank and file of the PDP and the federal government indulge in the desperate and sustained effort to besmirch the name and integrity of Asiwaju in the belief that such will assure it of continued rape of the country’s electoral system and subsequent despoliation they have visited on the country’s treasury. It assures the PDP that it is slaving in vain as nothing will stop Nigerians from disposing of the huge burden, which PDP has become, in 2015.
“Our reaction as we watch the obsessive way and manner the PDP and the federal government have embarked on this project of painting Tinubu black has been that of amusement because inherent in that project is the PDP’s impression that Nigerians are fools who know nothing and could be easily deceived. We know that it was because of this madness that the PDP and the federal government has gone on a shopping spree to recruit all manners of jokers, soiled and damned scarecrows, unscrupulous attack dogs and infantile muckrakers and assigned them to this project at very huge cost to the famished tax payer who have been given a raw deal by the PDP and the strings of horrible governance it has superintended in the past thirteen awful years of the nation’s history. While this flight of idiocy continues, our country is sinking deeper into the PDP crested abyss where life has worsened beyond the standard of Somalia, even with unprecedented oil revenue.
“It was quite interesting watching the PDP and the federal government struggle to besmear and belittle the attendance of Asiwaju Tinubu to the Democratic National Convention. It was even more amusing watch the PDP and the presidency indulge in the expensive tour of folly to manufacture all sorts of lies and false stories to belittle that attendance and we were left to wonder if this clueless, lost and disoriented government and its party sees the pull down Asiwaju Tinubu project as its most compelling project at this period of our chequered history. Watching the PDP, strutting and fretting over Asiwaju Tinubu, one is left to wonder if he is the source of their woeful failure in thirteen years of arid government marked by gargantuan corruption, howling incompetence and all manners of impunity. But we know that the PDP is scared to the marrows by Asiwaju Tinubu’s rising profile and the sure and recognizable threat he poses to their sworn commitment to continue the culture of election rigging and treasury cleansing, which the PDP and its many failed governments are noted for. We want to let them know that nothing will stop their ouster through a clear democratic process in 2015 as Nigerians are tired of the great burden PDP has constituted to their lives these past thirteen years.
