Participants at the National launch of this year's State of the World's Children Report have advocated for  allocation of  26 percent of the nation,s  annual budget for implementation of children related programmes as recommended by the United Nations

The stake holders said  less than the current 7 percent  budget for Education by federal and state governments  is not acceptable

The was contained in a communique issued at the end of the round table conference held in Abuja after the launch of the report

The conference organised by the federal ministry of women affairs in collaboration with the UNICEF
urged all tiers of Government  to develop the rural areas of the country to  curb the unprecedented urban migration and congestion of the urban areas

The participant also called on governments  to domesticate the Child Right Convention and universal ratification of Child Rights Act in all states of the federation, adding that Government should  curb the issues of urbanisation and their impacts on children as well as  Support for families  to provide for child development and education
